Terms of use

Last updated 16 October 2026

Ledgerly is a private, non-commercial household finance tool. Access is by invitation only. By using it you agree to these terms.

What it does

It shows balances, transactions, budgets, investments and alerts from accounts you connect or import. Connections are read-only: Ledgerly cannot move money, place trades or make payments.

Not financial advice

Figures, gains and alerts are for information only. Ledgerly does not give investment, tax or financial advice. Data comes from third parties and may be delayed or incomplete; check important figures with your provider.

AI features

AI features are off unless two things are true:

Once the owner turns AI on, it can use every shared account in the household, including shared accounts added by people who haven't agreed. If you don't want AI to use an account, make it private or ask the owner to turn AI off.

Today, AI only suggests a category for transactions that the category rules and your history can't place. These suggestions are marked as guessed. Any new AI feature will be described here before it starts.

To do that, Ledgerly sends the AI provider the transaction description, amount, date and your list of category names. It never sends account numbers, sort codes, people's names or login details. Features that summarise your finances send totals worked out by Ledgerly, not individual transactions.

AI gives general guidance, not financial advice. It never recommends a specific investment, pension, mortgage, loan or other product. Ledgerly calculates every figure itself, and AI only puts those figures into words. AI can get things wrong, so check anything important.

You can withdraw at any time in Settings → AI, and the owner can turn AI off for everyone. After that, nothing new is sent. Data the provider has already received can't be recalled, and categories it already suggested stay until you change them.

Your responsibilities

Availability

The service is provided as is, without warranties. It may change or stop at any time. Connections expire when your bank's consent ends and need renewing.

Privacy

How data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
